Restoring the fire damaged handloom facility in Chauntra Tibetan Settlement.
In 1992 the settlement buildings were destroyed by a fire. The entire population lost everything including the handloom project, which was their main source of income and livelihood. This disaster resulted in a lot of people becoming destitute and homeless. Funds were raised through charity dinners with entertainment events in Edinburgh, Scotland. The money was used to restore the settlement's handloom facility so people could start earning again.
